ED Visa Refund Policy
Curious about our Refund Policy? Let us explain it for you!
Your journey begins with obtaining an approval letter from the Ministry of Education. After you complete our application form, submit a copy of your passport and 12 passport-sized photos, and make the full payment, we’ll forward your documents to the Ministry of Education. If your application is rejected at this stage, BKK Language School will provide a full refund, deducting a 10,000 baht admin fee to cover our expenses.
Once the Ministry of Education approves your application, you’re all set to study Thai in Thailand! The next step is to secure permission to stay in Thailand by applying for the education visa at a Thai embassy, consulate, or immigration. Please note, there is no refund if your application is rejected at this stage due to reasons such as choice of embassy or consulate, past criminal record, or political conflicts.
We’re passionate about teaching Thai and offering Thai language courses. We don’t sell ED visas. We’re not a visa agency and don’t have the authority to grant you the ED visa. For more information about applying for the ED visa from abroad, feel free to contact the Thai embassy or consulate you plan to visit.
Your Guide Post ED Visa Approval!
Curious about our Refund Policy? Let’s demystify it for you!
The ED Visa for studying Thai at a language school is a 90-day visa, extendable up to 5 times. The first extension is for 30 days, and the subsequent four are for 60 days each. If you apply for all 5 extensions, you’ll have a total of 12 months of learning ahead!
Once you’ve secured your 90-day Single Entry Non-Immigrant ED Visa, make sure to visit our school with your passport within 7 days of entering Thailand. We’ll need to submit copies of your passport and ED visa to the Ministry of Education to prepare for your extension.
As your initial 90 days draw to a close, you’ll need to extend your ED visa at Immigration regularly. Each extension costs 1,900 baht. Be ready for a quick Thai quiz by the Immigration officer – but don’t worry, the questions are simple and if you’ve been studying, you’ll ace it!
In addition to extending your visa, you’re required to report your address to immigration every 90 days. This isn’t a visa extension, but a separate process. You can do this in person, through an agent, or online.
Planning to leave Thailand during your ED visa? Don’t forget to apply for a re-entry permit to avoid cancellation of your ED visa. The cost is 1,000 baht for single use or 3,800 baht for multiple re-entry.
Remember, a re-entry permit doesn’t exempt you from visa extensions. You must return to Thailand in time for your extension. Also, each time you re-enter Thailand, the countdown for your 90-day report resets.
Keep your old receipt of filing a 90-day report. You’ll need to turn it in along with the TM.47 90-day reporting form when you file your next 90-day report.
