What personal data Bangkok Language School collects, why we need it, who we pass it to, and what you can ask us to do about it. This matters more here than on most school websites, because an Education Visa application requires identity documents.

Last updated 7 August 2026

Who we are

Bangkok Language School, Lake Rajada Office Complex, Ratchadapisek Road, Klong Toey, Bangkok 10110, Thailand. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. For anything to do with your data, write to hello@bkklanguageschool.com. that address reaches the people who can actually action it.

What we collect

What you send when you enquire

Your name and whichever contact handle you reach us on (LINE, WeChat, Telegram, email or phone), plus whatever you tell us about the course you want.

What an Education Visa application requires

A copy of your passport photo page, and copies of your Thai entry stamps from the last two years. We ask for these because they are what determines eligibility. We cannot assess an application without them.

What enrolment creates

Your course, your enrolment dates, your payment record and your attendance. Attendance is not optional record-keeping: an Education Visa requires 80% attendance, so it has to be recorded and may be reported.

A passport copy is sensitive by any reasonable measure. We ask for it because the application cannot be assessed without it, we use it only for that, and we do not ask for more than the application needs.

Why we need it, and on what basis

To answer your enquiry, to check whether you are eligible before you commit any money, to prepare and submit your Education Visa application, to deliver the course you paid for, and to keep the attendance records an Education Visa requires. In plain terms: to perform our contract with you, to meet legal obligations Thai authorities place on a licensed school, and, where you have simply asked us a question, because you asked.

We do not sell personal data. We do not share it for advertising. We do not use your documents for anything other than the purposes above.

Who we share it with

The Thai Ministry of Education

Your application is submitted to the MOE for approval. This is the step that produces the approval letter an Education Visa depends on.

Thai embassies, consulates and immigration

You submit your own visa application using the documents we prepare. Where a Thai government body requires confirmation of your enrolment or attendance, we provide it.

Decisions made by the Ministry of Education, an embassy, a consulate or immigration are theirs, not ours. We prepare and file. We do not control the outcome, and we cannot withdraw a document once a government body holds it.

If you apply from outside Thailand, your documents go to the Thai embassy or consulate you choose, which means they leave Thailand. That transfer is a necessary part of the application you asked us to help with.

Messaging apps

Most of our conversations happen on LINE, WeChat or Telegram. Those services are run by their own companies under their own privacy policies and on their own servers, and anything you send through them also sits with them. That is outside our control. If you would rather not send identity documents over a messaging app, email hello@bkklanguageschool.com instead. We will never insist on a particular channel for documents.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become enrolments are kept only as long as the conversation is live, and then deleted. Enrolment, payment, attendance and visa records are kept for as long as you are our student and afterwards for as long as Thai record-keeping rules require a school to be able to evidence them. We do not keep personal data longer than one of those purposes requires, and when the purpose ends the data is deleted.

If you want to know what we still hold at any point, ask. We will tell you.

How we protect it

Access to enrolment and visa documents is limited to the staff who need it to do the work. We do not post student documents anywhere public, and we do not pass them to anyone other than the authorities named above.

Your rights

Under Thailand’s Personal Data Protection Act you can ask us to do the following. Write to hello@bkklanguageschool.com and we will respond within the time the law allows.

Access
Ask what personal data we hold about you and get a copy of it.
Correction
Ask us to correct anything inaccurate or incomplete.
Erasure
Ask us to delete your data where we are not required to keep it.
Objection and restriction
Object to, or ask us to pause, a particular use of your data.
Portability
Ask for the data you gave us in a portable form.
Withdraw consent
Where we rely on your consent, withdraw it at any time. This does not undo anything done before you withdrew it.
Complain
Complain to Thailand’s Personal Data Protection Committee if you believe we have handled your data unlawfully.

One honest limit: where a document has already been submitted to the Ministry of Education, an embassy or immigration, we cannot delete their copy. We can only delete ours.

Cookies and analytics on this website

This site uses Google Analytics, and it is switched off until you agree to it. When you first arrive, no analytics cookie has been set and no identifier has been sent. You are asked once. If you decline, or simply ignore the question, it stays off. Nothing on the site stops working either way, and there is no advertising, remarketing or profiling here at all.

If you accept, Google Analytics 4 (property G-46B5DQ6GKY) sets two cookies:

  • _ga — distinguishes one browser from another. Expires after 2 years.
  • _ga_46B5DQ6GKY — keeps the session going so a visit is not counted several times over. Expires after 2 years.

What we look at is which pages get read and which do not, so we know what to write more of. We do not use it to identify you, we do not connect it to your enrolment, and we do not sell or share it with anyone for advertising. Google acts as our processor for this and handles the data under its own terms, which means it may be processed outside Thailand, including in the United States. Your IP address is truncated before storage.

Changing your mind. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes the stored answer and the cookies, and you will be asked again on your next visit. You can also block cookies for this site in your browser settings, or install Google's opt-out add-on, which works across every site using Analytics.

We also use Google Search Console to see which searches bring people here. That is a report about our own site rather than a tracker: it sets nothing in your browser and shows us search terms and totals, never individual people.

Apart from Analytics, the site loads no third-party scripts, no advertising tags, no social pixels and no embedded trackers. Fonts and images are served from this domain, not a CDN, so loading a page does not announce your visit to anyone else.

Children

We have no minimum age for our courses. Where a student is a minor, we expect a parent or legal guardian to be involved in the enrolment and to consent to the handling of their documents.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be communicated to enrolled students directly rather than left for you to notice.
