Terms and Conditions

What you are buying, what it costs, what we do, what you have to do, and what happens if an application is refused. Written to be read before you pay rather than after.

1. Who these terms are with

Bangkok Language School, Lake Rajada Office Complex, Ratchadapisek Road, Klong Toey, Bangkok 10110, Thailand. By enrolling on a course you accept these terms.

We are a language school that files Education Visas. We are not a visa agency. The course is the product; the visa exists because the course does. Classes genuinely run and attendance is genuinely required.

2. Courses and prices

Prices are in Thai baht and cover both the course and Education Visa support. They are not tuition-only figures.

CourseDurationPrice
Thai8 months36,000 THB
14 months47,500 THB
Chinese4 months24,500 THB
8 months44,000 THB
12 months57,000 THB
English7.5 months45,500 THB
12 months58,000 THB

Only the Thai course runs to 14 months. Chinese and English run to 12. Prices may change, but never for a course you have already paid for. Current prices are always on the courses page.

3. Payment

Payment is upfront and in full. We do not offer instalments or monthly payment. Your place is confirmed once payment clears.

4. What the fee covers

Included

  • Your course for the full duration you purchased
  • Education Visa support: we prepare, check and file your application
  • Our own textbooks, written for these courses
  • A certificate of completion
  • A Certificate of Study on request

Not included

  • Immigration renewal fees. You pay these directly at immigration
  • Your visa fee at the embassy, consulate or immigration office
  • Travel, accommodation and living costs
  • IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC or HSK preparation. We do not run exam prep
  • Residence certificates and student ID cards. We do not issue either

5. Eligibility

There is no age limit and no nationality restriction. Eligibility is assessed case by case from your passport and your Thai entry stamps from the last two years. What causes problems in practice is a record of overstays or heavy use of visa-free entry. A long run of 60-day stamps counts against an application.

If you have previously held an Education Visa, you will need a new tourist stamp before applying. An Education Visa cannot be converted directly into another Education Visa.

6. The visa process, and who does what

We prepare, check and file. We submit your application to the Ministry of Education and prepare the documents you need.

You submit and you choose. You lodge your own application in person, at Chaeng Watthana if you are converting inside Thailand, or at a Thai embassy or consulate if you are applying from abroad. You choose which post to apply at.

Allow about five weeks for a conversion and five to seven weeks overall. If your current permission to stay expires in under two weeks we cannot bridge it: there is no "under consideration" letter, and you will need to leave and re-enter on a tourist stamp.

7. Your obligations while enrolled

  • Attend at least 80% of your classes. Sick days count inside that 80%, not on top of it.
  • Submit your own visa application in person. We prepare the documents; you file them.
  • Report to immigration yourself every 60 to 90 days. There is no passport drop-off service.
  • Give us accurate documents: your passport photo page and every Thai entry stamp from the last two years.
  • Choose your embassy or consulate. We will advise, but the choice and the research are yours.

Breaks are fine as long as you still meet 80% attendance. You cannot change your study language part-way through, and your visa cannot be transferred to a school in another city.

Beginner and advanced classes run concurrently, so you can join any level at any time. Finishing the levels early does not shorten your visa. It remains valid for the course duration you bought.

8. Refunds

There are two stages, and they are treated differently because our control ends at a different point in each.

Stage 1. Ministry of Education, refund guaranteed.

If we submit your application to the Ministry of Education and the MOE rejects it, you receive a full refund less 10,000 THB, which covers registration, administration and processing already carried out.

Stage 2. Embassy or consulate, no refund.

Once the MOE has approved you, you have permission to study. Getting permission to stay is a separate application that you make to a Thai embassy or consulate. If that application is refused, there is no refund. Three reasons why:

  1. Choice of post. We advise, but you choose where to apply. Some posts are strict and some are easygoing, and researching that is your responsibility.
  2. Your record. A criminal record, or a blacklist from overstaying, border bouncing or excessive tourist visas. No school can be responsible for that.
  3. Politics. Where relations between Thailand and your country are poor, approval may be unlikely regardless of your application. Check with your intended post before committing.

9. What we do not do

We do not run IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC or HSK preparation and we are not partnered with any testing organisation. We do not issue student ID cards. We do not issue residence certificates. Those come from an embassy or from immigration. While we can provide a Certificate of Study, we make no promise about what a bank or a licence office will accept it for.

10. Limits of our responsibility

Decisions made by the Ministry of Education, an embassy, a consulate or Thai immigration are theirs. We prepare and file to the best of our ability, and our 99.9% approval rate is on the applications we file. No school can guarantee the decision of a body it does not control. Nothing here limits any right you have under Thai law that cannot lawfully be limited.

11. Your data

Enrolment requires identity documents. How we handle them is set out in our privacy policy.

12. Changes and governing law

If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them, and the terms that applied when you enrolled are the ones that govern your enrolment. These terms are governed by the law of Thailand.

13. Questions

Ask before you pay, not after. Message us on LINE or email hello@bkklanguageschool.com. The full visa detail is on the ED Visa guide.
